Veteran industrialist Ratan Tata invested in a Bengaluru-based retail technology startup SnapBizz. This is Ratan Tata's seventh investment so far in 2016. He is definitely on an investment spree as his overall investment count in startups goes over 20.
Earlier, he has invested in firms like Snapdeal, Kaaryah, Urban Ladder, Bluestone, CarDekho, Sabse Technologies, Xiaomi, Ola and DogSpot.in.

Dog-lover Ratan Tata invested an undisclosed amount in pet care portal DogSpot.in.
DogSpot founder Rana Atheya said, "The investment by Mr Tata is an endorsement of the long held belief by us and our investors that the Indian pet care sector is going through a phase of huge growth and transformation. DogSpot.in is poised to become an agent of this transformation."
Ratan Tata on January 6 invested an undisclosed amount in a startup research platform- Tracxn. The company is an intelligence platform to help investors and companies to stay on top of all startup activities.
On January 19, Ratan Tata invested an undisclosed amount in online cashback and coupons venture- CashKaro. The e-commerce platform provides customers with cashbacks over and above existing coupons and discounts. CashKaro has tied up with over 1,000 online retailers and claims to have over 10 lakh registered users, according to media reports.
On January 28, Ratan Tata invested in specialty tea firm- Teabox. The investment will help fuel the startup's growth as it expands in other major markets around the world, said the company statement.
"His direct guidance and experience in the tea industry will surely help us grow Teabox to be the first global premium tea brand from India," said Teabox Founder Kaushal Dugar.
Ratan Tata made FirstCry his new startup baby by investing in the baby care e-commerce platform.
Supam Maheshwari, CEO, FirstCry said, "A positive nod from a business leader of Tata's stature is a great vote of confidence in the way FirstCry has created ecosystem."
Ratan Tata continued his investment spree by investing an undisclosed amount in an e-commerce company Moglix that is specialised in B2B procurement of industrial products. Tata will play an important role in mentoring Moglix on business growth global expansion and leadership, according to the company.
The company specialises in B2B procurement of industrial products such as MRO, fasteners and industrial electricals.
In his latest investment as told earlier, Ratan Tata has invested an undisclosed amount in retail technology startup SnapBizz. The company's founder Prem Kumar said that Tata's confidence in SnapBizz is certainly a big boost for the company's business idea. "This will continue to accelrate the digital revolution in India's kirana stores," he added.
